How to prepare.

Call the hospital on your way if you can. They can prepare for your arrival and may give advice. Emergency hospitals see the sickest pets first, so waits can be long.

The three 24-hour emergency hospitals listed at the top of this page are a good place to start. Call before you travel to confirm they're open.

Take with you

Any medications your pet takes

The packaging of anything they may have eaten

Your pet's records, if you have them

A towel or blanket, and someone to help you drive

Questions

Emergency care FAQs.

Is Rosslyn a 24-hour hospital?

No. We offer walk-in urgent care Monday to Friday, 7–11 PM, and daytime appointments Monday to Friday, 8 AM–6 PM and Saturday, 8 AM–6 PM.

When is evening urgent care enough?

For urgent but non-critical problems, such as vomiting, minor wounds or ear infections. If you're unsure, call us and we'll tell you if you should go elsewhere.

What about 6–7 PM, Sunday or overnight?

Between 6 and 7 PM no veterinarian is on site and no patients are seen. We're closed on Sundays and overnight, so please use a 24-hour hospital.
